Today it is one of the most open and globalised economies in the world and today plays host to many of the world’s leading corporations across a wide variety of business sectors. A key part of its success has been in attracting the high technology manufacturing operations of overseas companies. This includes the considerable inward investment by the world’s leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology companies. Introduced by the CEO of IDA(Ireland) Barry O’Leary, this short film explains the background to Ireland’s success in attracting 14 of the 15 big Pharmas.
